Join us for a transformational day of insight, innovation, and advocacy at NJPRA’s 8th Annual Virtual Spring Conference, Advancing the Future of Behavioral Health Services. This year’s program brings together trailblazing voices at the forefront of sytems change and advocacy, AI/ technology, and trauma-informed care.

Session I

Psychiatric Rehabilitation in Tumultuous Times: Advancing Recovery through Advocacy and Policy

We are honored to open the day with a powerful keynote from Dr. Nev Jones, Associate Professor at the University of Pittsburgh and a nationally recognized researcher and advocate. Drawing from lived experience and years of systems-change work, Dr. Jones will challenge us to reimagine behavioral health through the lens of equity, justice, and the essential role of peer providers.

Session II

Using AI in Training Counselors for their Skill Practice

Dr. Sunhee Eissenstat from Rutgers University will follow with a timely session on using artificial intelligence to support communication skill development. Her session will explore how emerging tools can help providers build stronger, more authentic connections with the people they serve.

Session III

Trauma-Informed Services in Psychiatric Rehabilitation

Dr. Prosline Saint-Armand of Kean University will round out the day by grounding us in the principles and practices of trauma-informed care. Her session will offer concrete strategies to help professionals center healing, trust, and cultural humility in their work.

This conference is more than a learning opportunity. It is a space for connection, reflection, and action. Whether you are a provider, peer, advocate, or educator, you’ll leave feeling inspired and ready to push the field of Psychiatric Rehabilitation forward at your organizations.
